The mission of ABELS (Applied Behavior Education and Life Skills) Academy is to provide an educational environment that promotes a child-centered approach to learning, the development of functional life skills, and the advancement of family and community values.
ABELS Academy was created because the clinicians at Southlake Autism were compelled to do more for children who were not making progress in their private and mainstream school placement.
ABELS Academy serves all types of students with a variety of diagnoses. At ABELS Academy, clinicians and teachers work closely together, combining their respective areas of expertise to create a learning environment that focuses on individual needs. Our goal is to enable each student to achieve their highest level of success possible.
UPDATES
Southlake Autism is the behavior center that founded ABELS. Southlake Autism offers a variety of intensive and focused treatments for individuals with behavioral, developmental, educational or emotional needs. Through the application of applied behavior analysis or ABA we are able to individually assess and customize a plan of care specific for your child.
We provide treatment for a variety of needs and diagnosis which include Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), ADHD, learning challenges, ODD as well as services to build social skills, parenting skills, teaching and classroom management skills.

ABELS Academy has been approved by the Florida Department of Education to accept Step Up For Students: FES-UA, FTC, FES-EO and Hope Scholarships.
